Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Wealth Advisor to serve as lead advisor on a book of client relationships within our growing wealth management practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience directly advising clients on financial planning and investment strategy, with a proven track record of owning client relationships and leading meetings independently. This is not an entry level or support role. We need someone who can step in and immediately serve clients with minimal onboarding, confidently handling conversations around retirement, tax, estate, and investment planning from day one. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to present economic concepts, explain their impact on clients' portfolios, and answer client questions about their investments. In addition, the position necessitates tremendous organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to perform multiple tasks successfully.
Responsibilities
Client Responsibilities
- Serve as lead advisor on client relationships.
- Explain to clients all financial planning topics including retirement, tax, estate, insurance, education, charitable planning, asset protection planning, and elder care.
- Build comprehensive financial plans using the firm's financial planning software, analyze client financial documents, and present recommendations directly to clients.
- Coordinate and manage projects and tasks assigned across Client Service and Investment Management teams while taking ultimate responsibility for quality control of client deliverables.
- Prepare meeting recaps, take ownership of follow-up items, and proactively schedule client meetings.
- Establish a leadership role with clients' attorneys, CPAs, and outside advisors to coordinate client needs.
- Expertise in portfolio construction utilizing firm investment models and sleeves.
- Monitor financial markets, client investments, and continually stay abreast of changes to SFMG model portfolios.
- Present economic concepts, explain their impact on clients' portfolios, and answer client questions about their investments.
- Manage the process of rebalancing client portfolios, tax loss harvesting trades, and any other trades necessary to raise or invest cash.
- Basic understanding of alternative investments including Private Credit, Private Real Estate, and Private Equity.
- Mastery of SFMG's client experience and compliance processes.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Minimum 3 years serving clients as the lead advisor.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant finance-related field such as Financial Planning, Accounting, or Finance.
- CFP® required.
- Extensive background using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams), financial planning software (eMoney), CRM technology (XLR8/Salesforce), portfolio management software (Orion), and calendaring software.
