JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Director of Human Resources is a strategic leadership role responsible for guiding and managing all HR functions to support organizational goals. This includes developing and implementing policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and advising executive leadership on personnel matters. The Director oversees employee relations, compensation strategy, training and development, performance management, and HR systems. They will lead the HR team, drive organizational culture, and workforce planning and staff development initiatives to enhance overall organizational performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
- Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
- Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's wage and salary program.
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
- Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
- Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
- Supervise and mentor the HR department staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
- Identify, develop and recommend professional development needs and opportunities and coordinate/conduct training on an annual basis or as needed.
- Conduct performance evaluations, formal and informal coaching and recommend disciplinary action.
- Ensures department’s staff compliance with annual HTHU, PPD, Influenza and CPR requirements.
- All other duties assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field /master's degree preferred
- Four (4) to ten (10) years' related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
- SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential required or have the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
- High energy, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to engage clients flexibly based on their individual needs.
- Respect for and maintenance of professional boundaries with all individuals.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and speaking English.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The compensation for this position will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills, job-related knowledge, and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus.
