Summary:

The Residential Clinical Supervisor is a member of administrative team responsible for directing recovery-oriented treatment for clients placed in Envision Unlimited’s residential facilities. Responsible for program planning/implementation and evaluation of program, providing direct supervision and training to mental health residential staff and interns, and coordinating/maintaining overall efficiencies of the program/residences. Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for participating in decision making on an administrative level in conjunction with the Director of Mental Health.
  • Responsible for overseeing that DHS, CARF, and other governmental regulations are in compliance, in regard to the Mental Health (MH) Residential Program, on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for assisting with the development of policies and procedures, program planning, implementation, and evaluation of the MH Residential Program to ensure recovery-oriented services are provided to all members.
  • Responsible for maintaining Key Performance Indicators for MH Residential Program.
  • Responsible for proving direct supervision and training to MH residential staff, while maintaining supervision logs for each staff member; Responsible for overseeing House Managers and their case management responsibilities.
  • Provide supervision to student interns as authorized by the Director of Mental Health
  • Responsible for carrying out progressive corrective action with residential staff members as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing staff/shift scheduling and payroll approval and providing shift coverage as needed.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a registry for external shift coverage to account for call-offs and coverage shortages.
  • Responsible for monitoring MH residential staff productivity targets and documentation completion as required to meet agency goals, accreditation standards and funder requirements.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and coordinating, and/or directly training, new MH residential staff members and interns.
  • Responsible for working with MH intake coordinator to ensure that the census at each residential facility is maintained at capacity.
  • Will attend weekly supervisions with Director of Mental Health and meetings as requested, participate on committees, and collaborate on marketing and outreach efforts.

Clinical Expectations:

  • Will work with MH Intake Coordinator to schedule interviews, assessments, and orientation with possible new residential clients.
  • Will provide and document crisis interventions and additional risk assessments, as needed, and will complete incident reports when appropriate within a 24hr period.
  • Ensure all services provided are in accordance with client’s individual treatment plan.
  • Enter, maintain, and update client information in Envision Unlimited’s Electronic Health Record (Quantum). i.e. face sheet, treatment plan, and diagnoses.
  • Assess and oversee referral transitions into MH residential facilities.
  • Will complete and maintain compliance with all clinical documentation related to assigned caseload.
  • Complete required productivity targets and documentation on a timely basis, including clinical documentation, service reporting, and note approvals for assigned houses/staff.
  • Will serve as the LPHA reviewing and signing off on IM-CANs developed by other staff as applicable.
  • Attend all scheduled clinical meetings including Group Supervision, Clinical Staff team meetings and All Staff meetings.

Overall Job Performance Functions:

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with changes to program needs and schedule as the need arises.
  • Participate in/attend committee meetings as assigned.
  • Attend special events for clients and assist as needed.
  • Attend internal and/or external trainings when available and approved (minimum of 15 hours/year). Be prepared to present information from outside trainings to clinical staff.
  • Inform Director of Mental Health of any condition that impacts the safety and wellbeing of clients served. Seek assistance as necessary to mitigate risk.
  • Adhere to all the Policies and Procedures of Envision Unlimited.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to the Illinois Mental Health code and Confidentiality Act at all times.
  • Seek out supervision as needed.
  • Maintain a professional attitude in conduct, and when interacting with other staff, clients, and outside personnel.
  • Demonstrate conduct and behaviors consistent with agency mission and policies.
  • Adhere to social worker/counselor code of ethics.
  • Respond sensitively to the diverse populations of the agency, including persons with disabilities and/or mental health issues.
  • Arrive to work, meetings, and all work-related functions on time. Report any absence, tardiness, or schedule change to supervisor as soon as possible. Maintain appropriate attendance record using Paylocity.

Requirements:

EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications: Assistant Director of Residential Services must have a master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field. Must have at least 5+ years’ experience in the social service field. Must have minimum 1 year supervisory/managerial experience and must have strong oral/ and written communication skills.
