Why This Role MattersAs Team Leader, Technology Enablement, you will lead a small, hands-on team that helps Indiana Farmers Insurance modernize how technology is built and delivered. You will tackle complex engineering problems, shape a practical technology-enablement roadmap, and help teams adopt cloud, automation, DevOps, and AI-enabled capabilities that improve developer experience, delivery effectiveness, and long-term business outcomes.
What You Will Do- Lead, mentor, and develop a small technology enablement team responsible for internal tooling, engineering enablement, and innovation.
- Contribute directly to codebases, prototypes, and technical evaluations that solve complex technology-enablement needs and improve engineering practices.
- Own and evolve a technology-enablement roadmap by monitoring emerging technologies, identifying practical opportunities, and translating them into enterprise recommendations.
- Partner with application development, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to advance DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, cloud-native approaches, and modern software delivery practices.
- Design and build internal tools and platforms that simplify engineering workflows and support the software delivery lifecycle.
- Coach teams through adoption of new tools and practices, remove barriers, and help them build sustainable ownership after implementation.
- Support the organization’s Azure cloud modernization efforts, including containerization and cloud-native application capabilities.
- Evaluate and help guide responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools and capabilities to improve engineering efficiency, decision-making, quality, and business outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with peers, technology leadership, and partners across the organization to align priorities and accelerate progress on significant initiatives.
- Lead talent management, career development, and training activities that build capability, accountability, and innovation across the team.
You will be successful by bringing informed technical judgment, curiosity, and momentum to work that is still taking shape. This role requires a leader who can solve difficult problems, explain the value of change, bring others along, and balance hands-on delivery with coaching and long-term capability building. You will help turn emerging practices into solutions that teams can understand, adopt, and sustain.
Requirements: What You Will Bring- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- At least four years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience supervising, leading, mentoring, or developing technical associates, engineers, or technologists.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, cloud environments, containerization, or developer-enablement tools.
- Experience supporting adoption of software development tools, engineering practices, or technology solutions across teams.
- Knowledge of software development, version control, testing, scripting, automation, and maintainable code practices.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and modern engineering practices; Azure experience is strongly preferred, while experience with AWS or another cloud environment will be considered.
- The ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs, troubleshoot complex issues, and turn emerging technology trends into practical recommendations.
- Clear communication, collaboration, change leadership, adaptability, continuous learning, emotional intelligence, and sound problem-solving judgment.
- Insurance industry experience is helpful but not required.

Work environment: Associates at Indiana Farmers Insurance can work on-stie, hybrid or remote. This is primarily a remote role. Associates must work from one of the 19 states where Indiana Farmers Insurance has employees: CO, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, WA, or WI.
Additional considerations: Travel to the Home Office and other business locations is expected one to two times per quarter for meetings, training, conferences, company events or other business needs. Work involves extended periods of sitting and frequent computer use, requiring sustained visual concentration.
Compensation DetailsAnticipated Hiring Range: $121,000 - $144,000 annually
This is the expected hiring range for the position. Actual starting salary may vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market factors. The range may not reflect the position’s full salary range or future earning potential. Eligible positions may also include bonus or incentive compensation and the benefits described below.
