Job Description

Data engineer (AI Ready data platforms)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Engineer (AI Ready Data Platforms) in the United States.

In this senior data engineering role, you will design and build next-generation data platforms that power AI, ML, and agent-based systems at enterprise scale. You will be responsible for creating robust, governed, and high-quality data foundations that enable advanced analytics and intelligent automation. This position focuses on developing AI-ready datasets that are curated, contextualized, and optimized for model training, inference, and autonomous workflows. You will work closely with AI/ML teams to ensure seamless data delivery for feature engineering and large language model applications. Operating in a cloud-native environment, you will help define the architecture for scalable, high-performance data ecosystems across batch and real-time processing. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about shaping the future of AI-driven data infrastructure.

Accountabilities
  • Design and build scalable, cloud-native data platforms that support AI, ML, and agent-based applications.
  • Develop end-to-end data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and serving of curated, labeled, and contextualized datasets.
  • Enable AI-ready data structures, including semantic models, feature-rich datasets, knowledge graphs, and vector databases.
  • Implement robust data governance, lineage, metadata, and quality frameworks to ensure trust, compliance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with AI/ML teams to support feature engineering, model training, and inference workflows.
  • Optimize data architecture for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Build and maintain both batch and real-time data processing pipelines across enterprise systems.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions supporting LLM and agentic AI data requirements.
  • Establish engineering best practices and mentor teams in modern data engineering approaches.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform development, or architecture roles.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern data ecosystems.
  • Experience building and supporting AI/ML data pipelines, including feature stores and model lifecycle workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with large language model (LLM) data pipelines and AI data preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working with scalable distributed data systems in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with semantic search, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts.
  • Exposure to data mesh or domain-oriented architecture is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system design skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation based on experience (DOE).
  • Fully remote role aligned with PST time zone requirements.
  • Opportunity to design cutting-edge AI-ready data platforms and architectures.
  • Exposure to advanced AI/ML, LLM, and agentic system technologies.
  • Work on enterprise-scale transformation and next-generation data initiatives.
  • Collaborative and innovative engineering environment.
  • Strong opportunities for technical leadership and mentorship.
