Summary
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CIO), the Vice President of IT Business Systems and Data Analytics will be a pivotal member of the enterprise technology leadership team, responsible for driving the strategy, delivery, implementation and optimization and support of financial and business application systems across a rapidly growing Credit Union with a data-driven vision for success.
This role drives innovation, ensures alignment between technology and financial/business objectives, and champions scalable, secure, and interoperable solutions that advance our Credit Unions mission and long-term strategic goals.
The leader will ensure that business applications can operate efficiently while benefiting from shared digital platforms, data services, and integration frameworks. The ideal candidate will be a technology delivery executive with deep banking domain expertise, particularly with Fiserv banking solutions, operations, systems integration, and core platform delivery.
This role will lead a team of application integration professionals, digital product owners, data analyst and vendor partners, driving the roadmap for core and peripheral banking platforms while ensuring successful onboarding of new innovative technologies that provide a digital edge against competitors across the banking sector.
This role requires a business leadership role focused on leveraging data, analytics, and AI, to drive business value, foster a data-driven culture, and ensure the effective governance and utilization of data assets and ecosystem across the organization.
Essential Functions
- Core Systems Modernization: Lead design and delivery. Execute a forward-looking application strategy that supports digital transformation, operational scalability, and banking excellence.
- Application Rationalization: Streamline redundant systems post-acquisition, creating an efficient, supportable application landscape.
- Implement standardized integration patterns for data, APIs, and workflows across banking systems and corporate platforms.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and enhancement of enterprise applications tailored to evolving banking, business, operational, and administrative needs and alignment.
- Establish agile delivery frameworks, portfolio management, and execution discipline to deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Responsible for establishing, leading, and operating the data & analytics function; building trust and managing data; evolving technology capabilities; and developing talent and D&A culture, focused on leveraging data, analytics, and AI, to drive business value, foster a data-driven culture.
- Oversight and leadership of our Fiserv banking core system and other critical financial platform implementations, including accountability for success metrics.
- Operational Excellence: Define KPIs and SLAs for uptime, performance, incident management, and delivery throughput. Drive continuous improvement through metrics-based management.
- Technology Integration: Partner with operations, and business unit leaders to evaluate technology environments, plan system transitions, and integrate into the enterprise platform ecosystem.
- Direct the full lifecycle of enterprise applications - from implementation to operations, optimization, and retirement.
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular evaluations to ensure high user adoption, measurable ROI, and alignment with financial and business priorities.
- Cloud Transformation: Drive migration of business applications to Azure or similar cloud environments to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Delivery & Implementation Oversight: Oversee implementation of next-generation digital and banking services, ensuring configurability and reusability across the enterprise portfolio, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and delivery best practices.
- Enterprise Application Portfolio Leadership: Own and manage the roadmap for all business applications
- Vendor and Partner Management: Manage technology vendors and integration partners to deliver on business commitments.
- Data & Integration Enablement: Collaborate with the enterprise business teams to ensure seamless data flow between business systems and central data lake environments.
- Maintain robust governance frameworks for application usage, access control, and data integrity. Ensure all systems comply with all relevant Federal and State regulatory standards, as well as internal cybersecurity and privacy policies.
- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing, business-focused application delivery organization that blends internal and partner talent.
- Defines data, analytics, and AI strategy, including vision, drivers, and outcomes. Leads the creation (and assures the ongoing relevance) of the organization’s strategy in collaboration with business domain leaders, CIO, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Institutes an operating model for data, analytics, and AI that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the strategy. The operating model includes the ecosystem, architecture, and delivery model.
- Build partnerships with executive leadership and board members to ensure that data is being managed as a business asset, data is AI-ready, and by tracking and measuring the value derived from those data assets. Communicates the tangible business value generated from data, analytics, and AI initiatives to stakeholders and executives.
- Maintains authority and accountability for the data assets, analytics used for decision making, and AI solutions that automate decisions and augment human performance. Creates and oversees a centralized data management/data engineering service for sharing certified data products to ensure quality, traceability, timeliness, usability, and cost-effectiveness.

Education and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise application management and integration, with at least 5 years in the financial sector, specifically supporting Fiserv Core platform products.
- Strong technical grounding in API-driven architectures, microservices, and cloud-native applications (Azure or AWS).
- Proven ability to manage complex vendor ecosystems, including SaaS providers, system integrators, and platform vendors.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or similar field.

Work Location
This role is designated as a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Yuba City, CA. While the position offers flexibility to work remotely part of the week, candidates should expect regular on-site work to support collaboration, security operations, and business needs.
Compensation Range
The company anticipates offering an annual salary range between $172,000 to $186,000 for this position at the time of hire. This range includes base salary (or hourly wages) and does not include possible overtime for non-exempt employees or any applicable performance-based incentives or commissions.
Annual Merit Increase
Employees are eligible for a discretionary yearly merit-based salary adjustment, based on individual performance and company results.
