SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Truck Driver position responsible for delivering inbound and outbound equipment, machinery, and parts to other locations and/or customers. Interacts with customers professionally and courteously and operates all equipment with safety as the number one priority. Will perform the following tasks in a way that reflects H&R Agri-Power’s mission to provide quality products/service at a fair price to afford a reasonable return on assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Securely load equipment, machinery, and parts, safely transport to destination, and unload properly to prevent injury and/or damage.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery records.
  • Follow all DOT, OSHA, and Company guideline during loading, unloading and transportation of goods. All drivers must stay informed and up to date with all laws and guidelines pertaining to the transportation of heavy equipment.
  • Assist management with scheduling deliveries or pick-ups of equipment, machinery, or parts.
  • Inspect equipment before and after loading/unloading to ensure that there is no damage in the process of loading and unloading.
  • Maintain all assigned vehicles in good, clean, and working condition.
  • Assist in set-up and assembly of equipment while educating customer of proper operational procedures as needed.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and safe work environment by interacting with customers, peers, management, support resources, and customers in a way that promotes teamwork and a commitment to excellence.
Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school or Equivalent
  • Customer Service experience
  • Experience with loading/unloading heavy machinery and proper
  • 1+ years of experience operating commercial vehicles weighing 10,000+ pounds.
  • Agriculture background is a plus, but not necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Possess a valid CDL with a clean record.
  • Must be 21 years of age older
  • Individual must be able to maintain a high degree of professionalism and courtesies while interacting with customers.
  • Willing and able to operate in and foster a customer and team driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and load ratings set by DOT and H&R Agri-Power.
  • Strong familiarity with traffic laws pertaining to the operation of heavy equipment on roadways.
  • Efficient multi-tasker
  • Communicates clearly and concisely one-on-one or within a group.
  • Must be competent and able to set work and safety priorities and work independently.
  • Able to carry-out written and verbal directions satisfactorily.
  • Possess first-rate customer service skills and positive attitude.
  • Solves problems using logical and critical thinking.
  • Strong awareness of surroundings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee or with reasonable accommodation to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to move around the dealership building and grounds without assistance.
  • Ability to repeatedly bend, crouch, kneel, stand, reach, grasp, strain, crawl, walk or climb.
  • Ability to climb in, out of and under equipment.
  • Ability to operate all equipment and tools in a safe and proper manner.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds on a normal basis, lift 25 pounds frequently and seldomly lift up-to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to react quickly and accurately while driving, loading and/or unloading.
  • Possess a visual acuity that allows you to clearly see road signs, lines, and lights clearly.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment or outside in inclement weather.
