SAFEWAZE – TECHNICAL WRITER

Seeking a talented Technical Writer to join our Product Team. They will be responsible for spearheading the creation of critical product related documentation including instruction manuals, bulletins, labeling, and educational materials. They will work collaboratively with design, development, and engineering to ensure accuracy and adherence to applicable laws and regulations. This role will play a central part in ensuring the safety of our customers in the field and the success of the Safewaze brand.

WHAT THE ROLE DOES:

  • Regularly collaborate with design/development/engineering on product knowledge.
  • Working with InDesign, generate clear and detailed content for product instruction manuals.
  • Generate technical bulletins and official notifications as needed.
  • Process product test data, and installation information so it can be converted into easy-to-understand product information for safety professionals.
  • Work with 3rd parties on the translations of specific documentation.
  • Coordinate with marketing on technical information changes/updates and other market publications.
  • Track all technical documents using our project management software Monday.com.
  • Annually review past documents for possible corrections, updates, or decommissioning.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of industry regulatory standards and compliance requirements, assist the Product team with implementation.
  • Occasionally attend ISEA/ASSP/ANSI/SPRAT and other committee meetings to stay up to date on relevant industry information.
  • Act as the secondary point of contact for inbound inquiries on product technical and regulatory compliance topics.
  • Assist the Technical Specialist with customer consultations as needed.
  • Assist with the creation of educational training materials for Safewaze staff, reps, and customers. Participate in leading training sessions as needed.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • College degree preferred; high school diploma required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical writing is ideal.
  • Willingness to develop a working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity or working knowledge of Adobe applications, specifically InDesign, is preferred.
  • Critical eye for detail, ability to proofread/edit technical documents.
  • Organized and able to maintain electronic filing system of shared documents.
  • Successful track record on individual time management, meeting goals, and working with a team.
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly ethical, positive cultural addition, self-motivated.
