The Role

As the Care Assistant you will provide care and support to people in their own homes with a variety of care needs, as per their bespoke care plan.

Our purpose is to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals within their own homes, enabling them to remain as independent, safe, comfortable, and fulfilled as possible.

The Care Assistant will promote dignity, respect, choice and independence at all times, whilst ensuring the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the people they support.

This role can include lone working.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assist individuals with personal care tasks including toileting, continence care, washing, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene.

• Assist with mobility and transfers in accordance with care plans and moving and handling training.

• Support individuals to maintain their appearance and self-esteem.

• Administer, store and prompt or assist with medication in accordance with company policies, procedures and training. Completing medication records accurately and maintaining safety.

• Prepare meals, snacks and drinks in accordance with individual preferences and dietary requirements.

• Monitor and report any concerns regarding food or fluid intake.

• Assist with household tasks including light cleaning, laundry, bed making, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.

• Support individuals with shopping, collecting prescriptions, and attending appointments where required.

• Build positive and professional relationships with individuals and their families.

  Providing companionship, conversation, and emotional support.

• Safeguard individuals from abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harm.

• Maintain accurate and timely care records using electronic systems, r

  eporting changes in an individual's condition, well-being or circumstances.

• Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals and family members as appropriate.

• Attend team meetings, supervision sessions and training as required.

• Act as a positive ambassador.

• Maintain professional boundaries and conduct.

Hours and Pay

The salary for this role is £25,565 per annum. With mileage paid at £0.25 per mile and £12.07 per hour for travel time.

You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week, across 5 days. This will include some weekends.

Location

This role is based in Sudbury and the surrounding villages.
