This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Flights and Loyalty based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of fintech, travel infrastructure, and high-performance backend systems, focused on reinventing how premium travelers search, book, and redeem flights using rewards.
You will help build and scale a next-generation flight routing and booking engine powering complex loyalty-based travel experiences.
The work involves deep integration with airline partners and global distribution systems, translating highly complex travel data into seamless customer experiences.
You will contribute to both backend and full-stack systems that power flight search, award pricing, and booking fulfillment at scale.
This is a high-ownership engineering role where your work directly impacts revenue-generating products and premium customer journeys.
You’ll collaborate with domain experts in flights and loyalty while shaping core technical architecture in a fast-scaling startup environment.
The team operates in a highly technical, product-driven setting where engineering decisions strongly influence business outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and deliver core features across the full flight booking lifecycle, including search, pricing, booking creation, and post-booking fulfillment
  • Design and implement systems for award ticket inventory, loyalty points pricing, and partner point transfer logic
  • Integrate with external airline systems and Global Distribution Systems (GDS) such as Amadeus or Sabre, handling complex data formats and protocols
  • Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using modern engineering practices and cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate with product and domain experts to translate complex travel and loyalty requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Ensure system reliability, performance, and accuracy in high-volume, mission-critical travel workflows
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong production-level Python expertise
  • Hands-on experience working with or integrating Global Distribution Systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre, or similar)
  • Strong backend engineering skills with familiarity in Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and AWS
  • Exposure to full-stack development environments, including TypeScript and React, is a plus
  • Deep interest in travel, airline loyalty programs, and points-based booking systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex, ambiguous technical systems
  • Proven ability to build and scale production systems in fast-paced environments
  • Curiosity-driven mindset with an ability to deeply understand domain-specific constraints and edge cases
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary with equity/stock option plan
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching
  • Flexible vacation policy supporting work-life balance
  • Fully remote work environment with occasional paid travel for onsite collaboration
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact systems in the premium travel and fintech space
  • Exposure to complex, large-scale global travel infrastructure and partnerships.
