Summary:

To provide clinical and clerical support to patients, medical staff, and other providers.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including.
  • Obtaining vital signs.
  • Obtaining and recording patient history.
  • Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas.
  • Maintaining medication and immunization records.
  • Screening and following up on test results as directed by a health care practitioner.
  • Monitoring and reporting patient symptoms and side effects.
  • Administering intradermal, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
  • Collecting specimens for laboratory testing. i.e. blood, urine and saliva.
  • Check and return voice messages for medical department and triage to appropriate staff when needed.
  • Coordinate care with relevant internal and external providers and informal supports.
  • Assist medical staff with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
  • Request relevant medical records and reports from outside providers involved in the patient’s care.
  • Complete all documentation and charting as required by law or agency contract.
  • Possess knowledge of client rights and ensure an atmosphere that allows for consumer privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe secure environment.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Non-essential Job Functions:

  • Supports agency mission, goals, and objectives.

Education, Licensing and Experience:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Active, Washington state, Certified Medical Assistant license.
  • Current CPR card.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mental health or social services work environment.
  • Ability to pass background checks for Jails and School if assigned to an offsite location.
