Job Description
The Warranty Technician is responsible for performing failure analysis on returned electronic products to identify root causes and system failures. This role troubleshoots circuit boards, documents findings, and collaborates with quality and engineering teams to support corrective action initiatives and customer communication. The position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, proficiency in reading schematics and technical documentation, and experience working with electronic test equipment.
Key Job Elements
· Perform failure analysis of warranty return electronic products to identify system failures
· Troubleshoot circuit boards and write reports for customer.
· Identify ways to test customer reported issue and document the procedures.
· Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron.
· Assist quality and engineers in providing customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use as necessary.
· Communicate findings to the Quality team and assist in the development of corrective actions to prevent reoccurring failures.
Requirements
· Associates degree in Electronics Engineering technology or equivalent experience.
· 2 to 5 years’ experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions
· 2 to 5 years’ experience testing electro-mechanical units using standard test equipment and analyzing results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
· Excellent soldering techniques with both with through-hole and surface-mount technologies.
· Ability to read and interpret technical data. Must be able to work from moderately complex blueprints, inspection specifications, and verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision.
