Crane Currency has an immediate position opening for a Pre-Press Operator 1 (Ink Mill). Based in Malta.

How you will make an impact:

As a Pre-Press Operator for the Ink Mill, you will be is responsible for the production of high-quality inks required for the printing of Offset, Intaglio, Screen Letterpress and all ancillary equipment. S/he will ensure priorities in ink production are followed as per planned production programme. The Pre-Press Operator will be responsible for her/his own safety and that of others, inventory, matching of ink colours, upkeep of the equipment and overall cleanliness of the department.

• Set up and operate equipment, manufacture and modify ink as instructed.

• Prepare ink samples for analysis.

• Ensure materials and supplies are available as required.

• Replenish workstations with supplies and ensure that operational transactions are recorded in - excel databases.

• Review and receipt ink received from our suppliers in the company’s ERP system.

• Ensures that ink batch cards are properly recorded.

• Assists the Pre-Press coordinator during stock takes.

• Possess the ability to form part of an autonomous maintenance team.

• Assists in other areas of operations when needed.

• Identifies cost savings and efficiency improvement opportunities without compromising quality.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

• Previous experience in colour mixing and matching would be an asset.

• Minimum ‘O’ level standard of education.

• Be computer literate.

• Possess the ability to understand, read, write and communicate in English.

• Possess fork-lift driving licence.

Preferred:

• ‘O’ level in science is preferred
• Post-secondary Diploma/certificate in printing is considered favourable
