Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
In this role, you will drive a truck with capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). You will be required to load and offload some shipments.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any issues or defects to the appropriate personnel.
- Obtain necessary signatures and documentation from customers upon delivery.
- Ensure that all paperwork is properly completed and submitted.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Comply with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations to manage driving hours and rest periods.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and other required documentation.
- Log details of routes, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries and pickups.
- Coordinate with loading and unloading staff to ensure efficient handling of goods.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by customers promptly and effectively.
- Contact customer at delivery site on expected time of arrival and delivery status.
- Update management and rental agents on delivery status.
- Assist the dock when not driving and processing gear as required.
- Provide assistance in other departments as required.
Knowledge of:
- Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Knowledge of local venues in Las Vegas such as Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay, Aria and MGM properties.
- Basic understanding of marshalling at the venues preferred.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, PHYSICAL AND KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience driving a truck with capacity of at least 26,000 pounds GVW is strongly preferred.
- Must have a Class A CDL Driver License.
- Candidates must also be in good physical condition with the ability to lift 75lbs.
- Organizational as well as computer skills are required.
- Candidates must be a team player and have the ability to work independently.
