Prep Cook in New York City, New York at Jack D's

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Prep Cook to support daily food preparation in a high-volume, high-end steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, works efficiently, and maintains consistent quality, organization, and cleanliness.

• Complete daily prep lists accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare vegetables, herbs, garnishes, sauces, stocks, dressings, marinades, and other components according to standardized recipes.
• Safely use knives and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Weigh, portion, label, date, and store ingredients properly.
• Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness; follow FIFO procedures and help minimize waste.
• Communicate shortages, quality concerns, and prep needs to the culinary leadership team.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations, prep areas, walk-ins, reach-ins, and dry storage.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed.
• Support line cooks and other BOH team members during service.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and cleaning duties.
