This role offers the opportunity to build and operate large-scale distributed database and storage infrastructure in a fully remote environment. You will work on systems where low latency, strong consistency, high availability, and fault tolerance are critical. The position involves designing replication, partitioning, consensus, caching, and durability mechanisms that support scalable data platforms. You will develop performance-critical infrastructure using Go, Rust, C++, or similar systems programming languages. The role also combines hands-on engineering with production operations, complex troubleshooting, and reliability improvements. You will collaborate with infrastructure and product engineering teams while contributing to the long-term evolution of distributed data systems.

• Design, develop, and maintain large-scale distributed database and storage systems.
• Build low-latency, strongly consistent infrastructure with high availability and durability.
• Design and optimize replication, partitioning, coordination, and consensus mechanisms.
• Develop and improve caching solutions to enhance system performance and scalability.
• Build performance-critical infrastructure using Go, Rust, C++, or similar systems programming languages.
• Operate production systems and troubleshoot complex reliability, performance, and availability issues.
• Participate in system design reviews, postmortems, and initiatives focused on improving system reliability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and product engineering teams on technical solutions and priorities.
• Contribute to the longer-term infrastructure roadmap and evolution of distributed data platforms.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including replication, consistency, partitioning, and fault tolerance.
• Experience building or operating database platforms, distributed databases, storage systems, or large-scale database infrastructure.
• Strong programming experience in Go, Rust, C++, or a similar systems programming language.
• Hands-on experience working with production systems and resolving complex technical issues.
• Strong debugging, performance analysis, and system optimization skills.
• Familiarity with distributed consensus and coordination technologies such as Raft, Paxos, ZooKeeper, or etcd.
• Ability to contribute effectively to system design discussions and collaborate across engineering teams.
