About Us

The Senior Data Design and Analytics Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the development, optimization, and oversight of data systems that drive clinical, research, and operational initiatives within the Department of Medicine. This role manages a team of data scientists and is responsible for developing and implementing machine learning and AI-driven solutions to support advanced clinical analytics and decision-making.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include designing scalable data infrastructure, managing end-to-end data workflows, developing secure internal web applications and administrative portals, implementing modern authentication solutions, creating enterprise-grade dashboards, and fostering a data-driven culture across the department. The manager also supports academic research, clinical operations, and administrative planning by delivering actionable insights through sophisticated data solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain robust SQL Server databases and infrastructure to support data analytics, dashboarding, and internal web applications, and administrative portals.
• Develop and manage ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load data from Epic Clarity, Snowflake helix (AWS), Banner, Oracle, and other healthcare systems into departmental SQL Server databases for analytics and reporting.
• Lead the development of interactive dashboards and custom reports using SSRS, Power BI, and other BI tools to support department leadership, researchers, and clinicians.
• Create, enhance, and maintain secure, scalable, and user-friendly internal web applications using ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET Core MVC, C#, SQL Server, and related Microsoft technologies. Lead application modernization initiatives by migrating legacy ASP.NET Web Forms applications to the latest .NET Core MVC platform, collaborating with IT infrastructure, database, and cloud teams to support web servers, database servers, and enterprise system integrations.
• Apply statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques (e.g., regression, decision trees, neural networks) for clinical prediction models and operational insights.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies) to improve software development, documentation, automation, and analytics workflows.
• Automate data pipelines and recurring reports using tools such as SSIS and SSRS to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure high standards of data integrity, governance, security and compliance across all analytics workflows.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including physicians, researchers, finance, IT, and clinical operations to align data solutions with institutional needs.
• Provide data support for academic research projects, including cohort identification, clinical outcome analysis, and data visualization.
• Document data systems, architecture, and custom applications to ensure long-term scalability and knowledge continuity.
• Engage with Vice Chair for Clinical Trials and Learning Health Systems to advance learning health system mission of the Department of Medicine
• Manages a team of data scientists including hiring,mentoring and performance; manages team to develop and implement machine learning and AI-driven solutions to support advanced clinical analytics and decision-making.
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect with expertise in business intelligence, data analytics, and data engineering, and enterprise application development within healthcare or academic environments.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Python, C#, ASP.NET MVC/.NET Core, JavaScript, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and, and strong experience in data engineering, ETL development, BI, and enterprise application development.
• Demonstrated expertise in data visualization, statistical analysis, and AI/ML model development in healthcare contexts.
• Familiarity with Epic Systems (Clarity, Caboodle, Hyperspace) and electronic health record data workflows preferred.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise authentication technologies (SSO) preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment.
• Prior experience supporting clinical or academic research initiatives in a medical institution is strongly preferred.

Minimum Salary Range:
USD $120,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range:
USD $150,000.00/Yr.
