Live On Nebraska is seeking a Per Diem Tissue Procurement Coordinator to support our mission of saving and enhancing lives. This role plays a crucial part in the donor recovery process, ensuring all procedures are conducted with precision, professionalism, and adherence to the highest medical standards.
Required to work at least 8 shifts per month.Shifts are 12 hours (0700 - 1900, 1900 – 0700) to facilitate the recovery of Tissues.What You’ll Do
· Assist in donor recovery and assessment procedures on an as-needed basis.
· Participate in planning meetings to discuss case details and team roles.
· Prepare and maintain sterile operating environments before and after procedures.
· Conduct thorough physical examinations of donors, documenting all findings.
· Collect biological samples for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and labeling.
· Utilize surgical tools to assist in tissue recovery while maintaining strict sterile techniques.
· Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all procedural activities.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
· Coordinate with internal teams and external partners, including hospitals, coroners, and processing facilities.
Requirements:Education: Experience as a Surgical Tech, LPN, EMT, Nursing, or other health science professional and/or a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Human Anatomy, is preferred.
Experience: Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and sterile techniques preferred.
Skills:
o Strong attention to detail and ability to document medical data with accuracy.
o Ability to assess and interpret complex medical information.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
o Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
o Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
o Valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance required.
