Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our Mumbai team and lead strategic communications programs for healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, and health-tech clients. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare sector expertise, established media relationships, excellent client management skills, and the ability to execute integrated communication campaigns that drive measurable business impact.
This role requires a communications professional who can effectively manage client relationships, mentor junior team members, and provide strategic counsel on healthcare and pharmaceutical communications. Client Management & Strategic Counsel
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for healthcare and pharmaceutical clients.
- Build trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders and provide strategic communications counsel.
- Develop and execute integrated communications plans aligned with business objectives.
- Manage client expectations and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work.
- Identify opportunities to expand account scope and strengthen client partnerships.
- Support crisis communications, issues management, and reputation-building initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the Indian healthcare and pharmaceutical ecosystem.
- Support communications around product launches, disease awareness campaigns, medical conferences, policy developments, and corporate reputation programs.
- Monitor healthcare industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive activity.
- Ensure communications are aligned with industry guidelines and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare, pharmaceutical, business, policy, and mainstream media.
- Secure meaningful earned media coverage through proactive story development and media outreach.
- Identify thought leadership opportunities for client spokespersons and subject matter experts.
- Develop media engagement strategies that enhance brand visibility and credibility.
- Draft and review:
- Press releases
- Media pitches
- Thought leadership articles
- Executive profiles and speeches
- Client briefing documents
- Presentations
- Backgrounders and FAQs
- Award submissions and case studies
- Ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with client messaging.
- Mentor and support Account Executives and Associate Account Managers.
- Manage workload allocation and ensure timely execution of client deliverables.
- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development support to team members.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Manage campaign timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Track campaign performance and prepare client reports with actionable insights.
- Ensure all client approvals and administrative requirements are completed on time.
- Contribute to business planning and operational excellence across accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing is preferred.
- 4–7 years of experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Healthcare Communications.
- At least 2–3 years managing healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, hospital, or health-tech clients.
- Experience working in a PR agency environment preferred.
- Strong healthcare and pharmaceutical industry knowledge.
- Excellent media relations and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
