Job Description
Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Sales Engineer with a strong background in design engineering to join a growing team in the electronics manufacturing industry. This role will bridge technical expertise and internal team collaboration, playing a key role in ensuring successful project delivery, managing team dynamics, and supporting both external customers and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical acumen, problem-solving ability, strong communication skills, and team management experience to interface effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
What You'll Do:
Technical Sales & Quoting
- Engage with customers to understand their applications and technical needs.
- Lead the quote-to-order process: technical review, pricing strategy, purchase order evaluation, and production handoff.
- Analyze designs for manufacturability and compliance with customer specs.
- Coordinate with production, supply chain, and engineering to align quotes with lead times and capabilities.
- Lead kickoff calls and technical meetings; adjust schedules to meet changing priorities.
- Work closely with internal team to ensure quotes align with project feasibility, lead times, and production constraints. Evaluate project specifications, material costs, and manufacturing processes to develop accurate pricing structures.
Team & Project Coordination
- Work with internal assembly teams to meet project deadlines, resolve technical issues, and support production.
- Coordinate with internal team to streamline workflows and resolve any technical or logistical issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Champion cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth execution from quote through delivery.
- Share technical knowledge and support training initiatives to align teams on best practices.
Customer Engagement & Business Development
- Present technical solutions with confidence—both internally and to customers.
- Build strong client relationships and identify new opportunities to expand business.
- Support proposal development and stay ahead of industry trends to strengthen quoting strategy.
- Represent the company at trade shows, customer visits, and outreach events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills for cost estimation and quoting.
- Excellent communication abilities – you can explain complex technical concepts to both customers and internal teams.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and production teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, capable of managing multiple projects.
- Proficiency in project management software and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Experience with CRM systems and quoting software is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace preferred) or a related field.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, precision machining, Aerospace & Defense, or related industries is preferred.
