The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
The Department of Psychiatry Residential Services is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Therapeutic Technician. The Therapeutic Technician will work with adult consumers residing in a 15 bed community based residence who are diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in mental health field or High School Certificate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a helping profession
- Valid NJ Driver's License required with no restrictions
Preferred:
- Bilingual skills appreciated
- CPR/First/AED preferred - will be provided if certificate is not active
Scheduling Requirements
- Evening Shifts – 03:00pm-11:00pm
- Tuesday – Saturday
- FT
Essential Functions:
- The candidate will support consumers in their wellness and recovery towards independent living
- Support provided includes medication supervision, skill building, community integration, identifying a crisis, and applying appropriate interventions -in-depth training provided on site
- Therapeutic technician will support other team members in providing a clean and therapeutic environment
- The mission of the department is to assist consumers in their recovery and keep them stable in the community and aid in the transition to a less supervised level of housing supervision
- Candidates will need to be patient and possess strong motivational skills to support the consumers in their individualized goals,
