Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day during core business hours
Position Summary
Join KerixHealth as a Member Care Associate in our on-site urgent care clinic, where you will play a key role in creating a smooth, welcoming, and supportive experience for patients from the moment they walk through the door. This front-office role is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping people, keeping details organized, and working closely with clinical teammates in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will support patient registration, payment collection, documentation, communication, and overall clinic flow while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism, warmth, and compassion, helping each person feel supported from the start of their visit.
- Register new and returning patients while accurately capturing demographic information.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, outstanding balances, and other patient payments in accordance with clinic financial policies.
- Help coordinate patient flow so the clinic operates efficiently and patients can be seen as smoothly as possible.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and route calls to the appropriate team member.
- Communicate clearly with clinical staff regarding patient arrivals, scheduling changes, and urgent patient needs.
- Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic privacy policies.
- Scan, upload, and organize patient documentation within the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area for patients, visitors, and team members.
- Assist patients with registration forms and required documentation.
- Address patient concerns with professionalism and escalate issues to leadership when appropriate.
- Support medical records requests in accordance with clinic policies and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with clinicians, medical assistants, nurses, and other team members to deliver a positive patient experience.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a medical office, urgent care, primary care, emergency department, or other healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience with patient registration, scheduling, and payment collection.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure during high-volume and stressful situations.
