Scot Forge is seeking an IT Software Development Intern for Summer 2027 at our corporate facility in Spring Grove, Illinois.

As an IT Software Development Intern, you'll gain practical software development experience while helping support the systems and technologies that drive a complex manufacturing operation.

What You'll Do

As an IT Software Development Intern, you may:

• Develop and enhance software applications and system integrations
• Build and support web, mobile, and business-facing applications
• Work with APIs, databases, and backend services
• Participate in digital manufacturing and ERP-related projects
• Explore and implement generative AI solutions
• Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders on real-world technology challenges

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Rising Sophomore or higher at the start of the internship
• Experience programming in an object-oriented language such as C# or Python
• Familiarity with Git-based version control
• Experience working with APIs, relational databases, or similar technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing web applications or user interfaces
• Understanding of software architecture, data modeling, or system design concepts
• Exposure to CI/CD, Docker, or application deployment practices
• Experience building APIs, webhooks, or system integrations
• Familiarity with generative AI tools and technologies

Additional Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment hair follicle drug screen

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The actual base pay offered to a candidate will depend on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, geographic location and prevailing minimum wage, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs.
