The Manager, Post Workflow will lead the design, optimization, and delivery of advanced post-production automation workflows that support media and entertainment operations. This role combines technical expertise, workflow strategy, and team leadership to improve efficiency across complex content production environments. The position will work closely with clients, engineers, vendors, and operational teams to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. The Manager, Post Workflow will oversee workflow engineering initiatives, guide technical strategy, and ensure the successful delivery of automation solutions. This role is responsible for managing a team of workflow engineers while partnering with internal stakeholders, clients, and technology providers to improve post-production operations.
- Collaborate with clients to identify workflow challenges, define requirements, and develop optimized solutions using internal automation platforms.
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of workflow engineers responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining post-production automation workflows.
- Provide technical leadership, prioritization, and guidance to ensure workflow initiatives align with operational goals and platform strategy.
- Own end-to-end accountability for projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective issue resolution, and clear communication of risks and outcomes.
- Coordinate workload planning, project assignments, and collaboration across engineering, operations, product, vendor, and client teams.
- Develop team capabilities through knowledge sharing, documentation, coaching, and technical development opportunities.
- Partner with vendors to enhance product capabilities and integrate new features into automation workflows.
- Work with engineering and workflow teams to gather requirements and define improvements for existing and future solutions.
- Support escalation management for workflow-related issues and ensure effective resolution.
- Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and improved operational efficiency.
- Maintain awareness of evolving post-production technologies and recommend solutions that support business objectives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced post-production technology leader with a strong background in workflow automation, media systems, and technical team management. They should have the ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical knowledge while collaborating effectively across diverse technical and operational teams.
- 6+ years of experience in post-production engineering, preferably with workflow automation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and developing individual contributors.
- Strong knowledge of post-production tools including Avid Media Composer and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly media import and export workflows.
- Understanding of media file formats, containers, and delivery requirements across different use cases, from screening to broadcast.
- Experience with post-production storage solutions such as Avid Nexis and Qumulo.
- Experience gathering requirements directly from clients and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and integrations between internal and third-party platforms.
- Experience with post-production automation tools such as Telestream Vantage.
- Understanding of video archive solutions such as Telestream Diva.
- Familiarity with low-latency baseband video streaming technologies, including SRT and SMPTE 2110.
- Experience with file acceleration solutions such as Signiant.
- Preferred experience with cloud automation platforms including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills across technical and operational teams.
- Competitive salary range of $140,000 - $175,000, with eligibility for bonus compensation.
