Position Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Echodyne offers the worlds first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points. Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
- Senior-engineer level experience in mechanical engineering design for electro-mechanical products, with deep understanding of thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations.
- Knowledge of the mechanical considerations of PCB design and PCB packaging.
- Ability to advise RF, Microwave, Digital & Antenna engineering teams on constraints (mechanical, environmental, thermal) & work to a production solution.
- Advanced-to-expert level user of Solidworks.
- Knowledge in implementing, interpreting and explaining ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
- Knowledge in hand and computational analysis for modal, stress and thermal considerations.
(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)
- Proficient experience in ANSYS/similar analysis software for thermal and structural computational analyses.
- Experience leading the mechanical design of RF or millimeter-wave transmit/receive modules, or equivalent PWA-based transceivers, at x-band or above through qualification & product launch.
- Certified in ASME Y14.5 GD&T
- Experience designing and certifying products for IP rating requirements.
- Knowledge of various production processes and ability to tailor design to those processes to meet design to cost objectives.
- Relationships with local fabrication shops.
- Knowledge and/or experience with design approaches for RF isolation requirements.
- BS, MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with +5 years experience
- Eligible to handle export-controlled data (ITAR, EAR)
