Position Summary:
As a Protein Manufacturing Specialist II you will be responsible for the production of high-quality enzymes and antibody conjugates to enable Singular’s NGS and Spatial technologies. We are seeking a self-driven individual who enjoys to work independently or collaboratively on a variety of different processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day setup and operation of laboratory activities and execute laboratory procedures and SOPs as required to meet production needs.
- Apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within a protein production environment, including maintaining standards for sterility, bacterial growth, and fermentation processes.
- Independently perform protein expression using bioreactors and protein purification using ÄKTA systems in accordance with established manufacturing protocols.
- Execute cell lysis, cell harvesting, centrifugation, chromatography, and other protein purification techniques.
- Support antibody conjugation activities.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in a production environment, including batch records, process data, and presentation materials.
- Perform routine quality control testing, including SDS-PAGE, protein concentration determination, and basic protein characterization assays.
- Deliver high-quality work with strong attention to detail while effectively managing multiple priorities.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
- Work independently with moderate supervision while ensuring compliance with established procedures and timelines.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Reagents Manufacturing, and Quality Control.
- Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in protein expression and purification.
- Proficiency with ÄKTA chromatography systems and associated purification workflows.
- Strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate documentation in a regulated environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred
- Experience operating bioreactors for microbial protein expression.
- Experience with antibody conjugation processes.
- Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments and quality systems.
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $23.98 - $29.62. Additionally, this role is eligible for to receive equity as part of the compensation package. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Should the level of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly.
