Job Summary
Southend Pharmacy is seeking a Shipping Supervisor. This person is responsible for overseeing daily shipping and distribution operations to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective shipment of products. You will oversee and supervise shipping personnel, maintains compliance with company policies and safety standards, coordinates with warehouse and customer service teams, and ensures all outbound shipments meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities and personnel
- Ensure all outbound orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on schedule
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and performance expectations
- Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards
- Train, coach, and develop shipping staff on procedures and best practices
- Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate operational priorities
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and delivery issues
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation, records, and inventory transactions
- Coordinate with warehouse, inventory control, customer service, and transportation carriers
- Monitor workflow and staffing levels to meet production and shipping deadlines
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, GMP, FDA, USP, or other applicable regulations as required
- Perform routine inspections of shipping equipment and work areas
- Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and employee evaluations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Prepare reports related to shipping performance, KPIs, and operational metrics
What We Require
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
Experience
- 3–5 years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and shipping software preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of shipping procedures, inventory control, and warehouse operations
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze shipping data and improve operational performance
- Understanding of workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance
