Production Associate in Detroit, Michigan at Hacienda Mexican Foods LLC

Production Associate is responsible for various production tasks within the tortilla manufacturing process. This role involves rotating through different production line positions, including quality checks, machine operation (Durapack, metal detector, sealer), and weigh checking (scale). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable to changing production needs, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Production Tasks:

• Weigh production output to meet specifications.
• Pack tortillas to specific quantities or weights as directed by the production supervisor.
• Operate production line machinery, including durapack, metal detector, and sealer machines.
• Manually wrap or operate a pallet wrap machine.

Quality Control:

• Inspect and discard defective products or foreign materials, placing them in designated containers.
• Perform quality checks at various stages of the production process.

Material Handling:

• Lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs, including ingredient containers, boxes, and finished products.
• Documentation and Labeling:
• Label containers and paper/plastic bags accurately.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

Cross-Training:

• Willingness to cross-train and perform various production line positions as needed.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately.

Ability to identify and resolve problems independently.

Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent production line changes.

Ability to stand for the full shift.

Ability to lift, stack, or carry up to 40 lbs.

Must comply with all in-house food safety and sanitation training.
