Job Description Quality Assurance Technician – Elgin, IL POSITION SCOPE: The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) ensures all steps within the manufacturing process meet our internal and customer quality requirements. This role must follow strict process and procedures to test, measure, and document quality checkpoints throughout the process. Examples include: pH, weights, color, taste, and leaker testing. REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Supervissor ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Complete all required testing, document, and evaluate results timely on multiple lines. • Perform basic statistical calculations using average, standard deviation, and range. • Must evaluate weight control and attribute chart data; perform capable studies. • Must understand customer specifications stated in quality documents. • Communicate with all levels of employees on daily production plan. • Maintain communication with other departments and employees to notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production. • Assist QA Supervisor during new product start-ups or special projects as needed. • Adhere to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer and SQF requirements. • Must utilize continuous improvement mindset and assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area. • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. QUALIFICATIONS: • Read and write in English (Bilingual in Spanish is preferred). • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers and decimals. • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions. • Ability to read and understand written forms and packaging labels. • 1-3 years of quality or manufacturing experience (food industry is preferred). • High school, GED or equivalent. • Red Zone Experience (preferred).
