- Budgeting & Variance Analysis: Oversee the annual budgeting process, monitor department-level spending, and produce monthly operational financial metrics for Ownership.
- Internal Controls & Authorizations: Maintain corporate procurement policies, purchase order (PO) authorization limits, credit card (AmEx) reconciliation procedures, and expense controls.
- Multi-Entity Financial Oversight: Provide strategic oversight over real estate receivables (AR), retail/wholesale payables (AP), inventory controls, and cash-based accounting routines.
- Leadership & Delegation: Partner with and mentor the Controller to ensure accurate general ledger maintenance, GAAP compliance, and timely monthly closes.
- Operational Efficiency: Continuous evaluation and refinement of shared service workflows to improve service delivery across all business entities.
2. Ownership & External Partner Interface
- Collaborate with Ownership to provide accurate financial reports for banking, treasury, and capital decisions.
- Organize annual operational accounting records to ensure seamless data handoffs to Ownership and external CPA partners for corporate tax filings.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience (e.g., Controller, VP of Finance, Director of Finance, or CFO) within small-to-midsized businesses.
- Demonstrated experience in multi-entity environments (Retail, Wholesale, Distribution, or Commercial Real Estate experience preferred).
- Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in cash flow modeling, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Strong expertise in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics), financial management software (Avid / Rent Manager), and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel).
- Solid understanding of GAAP as well as cash-based and multi-entity accounting principles.
- Leadership Traits:
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Pragmatic problem-solver comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, family-owned business culture.

- Benefits Package: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with company match; paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
Compensation is competitive and negotiable, aligned with industry and national standards. We care more about impact and fit, than checking boxes. Salary expectations will be discussed during interviews.
