Position Overview:
The Associate Buyer of Beauty is responsible for providing market expertise, filtering the assortment, and establishing quantities that meet the Region's needs and financial goals within open to buy parameters. Demonstrates smart risk-taking in business and product decisions and clearly communicates and manages team to execute these decisions. Supports the Buyers by providing analysis and results for their category, recommends action against the results and follows through on executing this action. Coordinate daily activities across designated departments to facilitate responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with Buyer to formulate and profitably execute the development, selection, procurement and promotion across multiple brands
- Identify product opportunities and trends which will impact the business and provide results
- Liaise with visual team to ensure that all products are properly on sales floor for optimization
- Manage product selection and assortment during market
- Analyze sales trends, key items, vendor profitability and aged inventory as well as making recommendations for driving improved performance
- Writing orders, changes, cancellations and necessary follow-up (both internally and externally) to ensure key shipments are delivered and processed.
- Monitoring of merchandise reports, Open-to-Buy monitoring, stock analysis and other ad hoc analyses.
- Manage product set up and maintenance.
- Ensure all markdowns and store promotions are entered and set up properly in system
- Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors to stay abreast and informed of supply issues, new products, lead times and reliability
- Pull relevant sales, margin and price point reporting and make recommendations based on results to improve business portfolio.
- Performs other duties as determined by management but not limited to the above-mentioned responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Buying Role.
- Grasp and navigate a wide range of business relationships; negotiation skills.
- Creative product skills and comprehensive market knowledge.
- Ability to think conceptually and strategically regarding business; creative problem solver.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Demonstrates initiative, is conscientious and provides complete follow-through on all aspects of responsibility
- Ability to multitask and focus in a busy atmosphere
- Comfortable with team-based work structure, ability to demonstrate flexibility
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- High level of proficiency in Word and Excel.
