Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Pipelayers to join our Richmond team in a dynamic construction environment. As a Pipelayer, you will play a vital role in various construction projects, utilizing your skill set and performing essential tasks that contribute to the successful completion of our projects. Ideal candidates will have experience in pipelaying and a strong understanding of construction site procedures. Ideal candidates will be dependable, punctual, and can be relied upon to work independently or with minimal supervision while still meeting deadlines and expectations.

Duties

  • All activities related to pipe installation, maintenance, and repair on construction projects, including:
    • Assess the ground conditions, construct safe trenches while coordinating with operator, and install pipe.
    • Cut and fit pipe sections to required lengths and angles using pipe saw or other appropriate cutting tools.
  • Handle and position heavy pipe segments using approved rigging methods.
  • Work closely with construction crews, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that pipe work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.

Qualifications

  • Experience in installation of water, gravity sewer, sewer force main, and storm drain in all scales and sizes is a must.
  • Ability to proficiently read plans, survey layouts, centerline, and grade is preferred.
  • Ability to use and understand tools such as sight level, pipe laser, and transit is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various pipe materials (PVC, ductile iron, concrete, HDPE) and appropriate installation techniques
  • Familiarity with construction site practices and procedures is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods.

Monday through Friday, hours depend on weather and job.
40 hours a week, overtime opportunities available.
