As a Business Development Manager, you will lead strategic market development efforts focused on defense modernization programs, building relationships and positioning advanced software solutions within critical mission environments. You will identify growth opportunities, support capture activities, and collaborate across teams to align customer needs with technology strategies.
- Develop and execute strategic business development campaigns supporting integrated missile defense, Golden Dome-related initiatives, and JADC2 priorities.
- Identify, shape, and qualify opportunities across defense organizations, government agencies, military branches, and strategic industry partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, defense primes, system integrators, and technology partners.
- Position advanced software technologies within mission-critical environments, including:
- Distributed sensing architectures.
- Battle management systems.
- Integrated air and missile defense platforms.
- Space-ground interoperability solutions.
- Tactical edge computing environments.
- Autonomous and unmanned systems.
- Support capture efforts through opportunity qualification, strategy development, customer engagement, white papers, proposals, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Represent the organization at defense conferences, technical meetings, industry events, and customer engagements.
- Provide market intelligence on defense priorities, acquisition strategies, interoperability standards, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, and executive teams to align customer requirements with technology roadmaps.
- Educate customers and partners on modern data-centric architectures and real-time interoperability solutions for mission-critical systems.
The ideal candidate is a strategic business development professional with experience in defense environments and a strong understanding of modern military technology ecosystems. You should be able to communicate effectively with both technical experts and executive stakeholders while managing complex opportunities across government and industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, military science, business, or a related field; equivalent military experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, defense operations, acquisition, program management, or related roles within the U.S. defense ecosystem.
- Experience working with Department of Defense organizations, intelligence communities, space programs, missile defense, or command-and-control environments.
- Strong understanding of modern defense architectures, including:
- Open systems approaches.
- Distributed systems.
- Tactical networking.
- Sensor integration.
- Real-time data exchange.
- Edge computing environments.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across government agencies, military organizations, and defense industry partners.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Willingness to travel domestically for customer meetings, industry events, and defense engagements.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government regulations and contract requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior military service or civilian government experience.
- Experience in missile defense, air defense, space operations, ISR, autonomy, or tactical command-and-control systems.
- Familiarity with defense interoperability standards and frameworks such as JADC2, CJADC2, OMS/UCI, FACE, CMOSS, SOSA, or DDS.
- Existing relationships with key defense organizations, military commands, or major defense contractors.
- Experience supporting defense capture activities, including OTAs, SBIRs, RFIs, and proposal development.
- Active security clearance.
