Accountabilities:

The Principal Renewal Account Manager will own the strategy and execution of the most complex renewal opportunities, ensuring customer retention, revenue growth, and strong commercial outcomes. This role combines strategic account leadership, negotiation expertise, and team enablement responsibilities.

  • Lead renewal strategies for high-value enterprise accounts, managing complex commercial discussions with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Own renewal opportunities ranging from significant recurring revenue portfolios, including accounts with multiple decision-makers, institutional ownership structures, and multi-year agreements.
  • Build compelling business cases focused on customer outcomes, including revenue impact, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and long-term value.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies around pricing, contract terms, renewals, and commercial structures while protecting business value.
  • Partner closely with customer success, sales, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth renewal execution and strong customer relationships.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point and advisor for the wider renewals team, helping colleagues navigate complex situations and improve deal execution.
  • Coach and mentor team members by sharing best practices, improving renewal processes, and contributing to scalable playbooks.
  • Support forecasting accuracy by maintaining strong pipeline visibility and ensuring renewal risks and opportunities are proactively managed.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a commercially driven account management professional with extensive experience managing complex renewals, negotiating enterprise contracts, and influencing executive stakeholders.

  • 8+ years of experience in renewals, strategic account management, customer success, or a similar commercial role.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex contracts with enterprise customers.
  • Experience managing high-value accounts with significant recurring revenue responsibility and multiple stakeholders involved in purchasing decisions.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to lead conversations with senior leaders including CFOs, CROs, and other C-level stakeholders.
  • Exceptional negotiation, objection handling, and value-based selling abilities.
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline management, forecasting, and renewal tracking.
  • Ability to create structured processes, improve operational workflows, and develop repeatable approaches that help teams succeed.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
