About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. The CFO will provide financial leadership and strategic direction for the organization, ensuring long-term financial health while supporting continued growth and operational excellence. This executive will oversee all financial functions, develop business strategies, optimize financial performance, and serve as a trusted advisor to ownership and senior leadership. The ideal candidate is an experienced financial leader with a strong background in manufacturing, exceptional business acumen, and a collaborative leadership style.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with organizational goals and long-term growth initiatives.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to ownership and executive leadership, supporting key business decisions and investment opportunities.
- Oversee all accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting functions.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling financial forecasts in collaboration with department leaders.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and benchmarks to evaluate company performance and profitability.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, financing activities, and capital planning.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax obligations.
- Oversee internal and external audits and serve as the primary financial contact for auditors, financial institutions, and outside advisors.
- Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and cost management.
- Partner with operations and manufacturing leadership to strengthen cost accounting, inventory controls, and profitability analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including financial systems, ERP optimization, reporting automation, and process enhancements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to ownership and executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; MBA and/or CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller, or similar executive role.
- Significant experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and tax compliance.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and financial reporting technologies.
- Proven ability to develop financial strategies that drive business growth and operational performance.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
- Exceptional leadership and team development experience with a collaborative management style.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with executives, ownership, financial institutions, and external partners.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound business judgment.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and financial reporting tools.
