Job Description

Position Summary

The Director, Commercial Management serves as a hands-on commercial lead for new FM&O pursuits and complex statements of work from intake through signature. Reporting to the SVP, Commercial Management, this role partners across Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, and delivery stakeholders to structure executable deals, guide negotiation strategy, and ensure commercial terms align with operational capabilities, pricing assumptions, and enterprise risk tolerance.

This is a role designed to grow. The Director will build commercial credibility through direct deal execution and, as the Commercial Management function scales, take on broader leadership responsibility — reinforcing consistent, sound decision-making across the deal lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial judgment, contract fluency, and the executive presence to drive timely decisions across a matrixed organization while protecting margin, compliance, and delivery feasibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary commercial lead for new pursuits and complex SOWs from intake through structuring, negotiation support, and signature readiness.
  • Drive deal structuring decisions by aligning scope, assumptions, pricing, obligations, service levels, and acceptance criteria with business objectives and delivery realities.
  • Lead SOW governance to ensure clarity, consistency, and operational executability across commitments, dependencies, exclusions, and customer-facing documentation.
  • Partner with Legal and Contracts Administration to support negotiation of commercial terms, resolution of exceptions, and escalation of material risk issues.
  • Coordinate with Finance on pricing, margin guardrails, deal business cases, and approval requirements for non-standard terms or structures.
  • Facilitate cross-functional reviews with Operations and delivery stakeholders to validate feasibility, transition readiness, and alignment to service commitments.
  • Prepare and support approval packages, exception summaries, and recommendation materials for leadership review.
  • Promote clean handoff into execution by ensuring final commercial intent, obligations, and assumptions are clearly documented and understood.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial management, deal desk, contract negotiation support, business operations, or a related commercial leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MSAs, SOWs, pricing structures, approval workflows, and cross-functional deal governance.
  • Strong ability to assess commercial risk, identify non-standard positions, and guide stakeholders toward practical resolution paths.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, legal studies, operations, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting FM&O, facilities, operations, managed services, or other complex service-based commercial environments.
  • Familiarity with pricing models, margin analysis, and change control processes.
  • Experience operating in matrixed organizations with formal approval governance and executive stakeholder engagement.
What Good Looks Like

A strong performer in this role improves deal quality and velocity by driving structured commercial review and clear, timely decisions. They reduce rework and downstream execution risk through rigorous SOW governance and cross-functional alignment — balancing growth enablement with margin protection, compliance, and operational realism.
