Reports to: Vice President of Operations
Salary Range: $82,098-$95,202 annually

The Assistant Vice President of Operations (AVPO) is a member of the leadership team at CAPS and Maple City. They support the mission and values of the organization by working closely with the VP of Operations (VPO) and collaborating with a broad range of roles across the organization. They ensure strategic organizational goals are met and are responsible to help with implementation of smooth, efficient, and quality outcomes for employees and patients.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervision of the VPO supervisees in the absence of the VPO.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Fosters a culture of high trust, collaboration, hospitality, mission-focus, continuous improvement, curiosity and learning across the organization. Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, patients, and community.
- Works closely with the VPO, managing special operational projects across the organization.
- Collaborates with other members of the Leadership Team as needed to carry out strategic goals and organizational improvement efforts.
- Uses reporting and data analytics to develop and monitor operational goals and improve organizational performance through leading Quality and Process Improvement (QPI) initiatives alongside the VPO, the Clinical Quality Provider Lead, Director of Medical Services, Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer (ED/COO), and Grants and Compliance Team.
- Provides support to Directors in collaboration with the VPO, identifying operational problems and opportunities for improvement, troubleshooting issues, implementing new initiatives, and instilling a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Assists with the management of Emergency Preparedness for all services across CAPS and Maple City, attending local area meetings, and collaborating with other organizational leaders on planning, training, and compliance.
- Attends and leads meetings in absence of VPO.

Required Hours
This position requires a commitment of 20-30hrs/week with a potential of a future increased schedule based on organizational needs.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Skills needed: business management, humility, collaboration, excellent verbal and written communication, organization and detail-orientation, flexibility and orientation toward continuous improvement and learning.
- Alignment with CAPS and Maple City mission, vision, and values. Specific training in motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, group facilitation, preferred but not required.
- A thorough understanding of practices, theories, policies, protocols, and regulations required for CAPS and Maple City operations.
- Proven ability and interest in working across cultures and with multilingual staff and patients required.
- Ability to manage multiple sites, teams, and complex projects simultaneously, handling competing deadlines and high pressure, high-stakes decision making.
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Records (OCHIN EPIC), and related data, reporting, and communication applications.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience
- At least 2 years of previous managerial experience required; preferably in a healthcare or social services setting.
- Master’s level education is strongly preferred; bachelor's level required, preferably in a clinical, health, or business/non-profit leadership field.
- Strong preference for direct client or patient experience in programs similar to what CAPS and Maple City offer.
- Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing training preferred.
- Experience and training in process improvement preferred.
- Bilingual in a language used by CAPS and Maple City as an asset but not required.
Requirements
- Ability to perform considerable time sitting and reaching.
- Occasional travel between health center sites.
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
