Responsibilities:
- Operation and maintenance of all facilities and process equipment including but not limited to: fire protection systems (sprinklers, pumps, storage tanks), mechanical equipment (chillers, air compressors, hot water boilers), HVAC equipment (BCU, FCU, DHU, AHU, RTU), process equipment (dust collectors, fume collector, scrap collector, activated carbon towers) and electrical equipment & power distribution from 30kV to 480V.
- Areas of responsibility include all facility related equipment located in the production building, assembly building, utility support buildings and surrounding outdoor areas.
- Monitor and plan daily staffing status and prepare a short-staff backup plan, communicating with off-shift teams as needed.
- Manage all Supervisors and their direct reports.
- Manage incident reports, safety alerts, and safety training for new employees and visitors.
- Manages overall training program of floor operators.
- Maintain good morale and a positive working environment.
- Ensure KPIs are up to date and communicated.
- Submit electronic approvals (EAs) for invoices, parts orders, and organizational changes.
- Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate problem solving methodology and reduce a loss of utility cost.
- Follow the work procedure and comply with safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain a safe and environmentally compliant working area.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities management and/or maintenance.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint) & AutoCAD.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certified Engineering Technician/Technologist or Facilities Management Professional designation is an asset.
- Experienced with operations and maintenance of HVAC systems, Dehumidification, Chillers, Air Compressors, Boilers, Pumps, Piping, power distribution etc.
- 10 years’ experience in property and building maintenance, repairs, renovations and equipment modifications covering structural, electrical and mechanical systems
- Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills.
- Resourceful and self-sufficient with strong time management skills and the ability to determine priorities and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and building codes with ability to read and understand drawings
