Mercedes-Benz of Modesto is hiring an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Automotive Parts Advisor to join our Parts Department.
This position supports our service technicians, retail customers, and online parts customers by identifying the correct automotive parts, processing orders, maintaining accurate records, and providing timely updates. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced dealership environment, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in delivering professional service.
Responsibilities- Assist service technicians and customers with automotive parts, accessories, and supplies
- Research and identify the correct parts based on vehicle year, make, model, VIN, and repair needs
- Use electronic parts catalogs and manufacturer resources to verify part numbers and availability
- Process incoming and outgoing parts orders
- Manage orders received through the dealership’s online parts store
- Communicate with customers regarding order status, availability, delays, and shipping
- Locate and source parts when items are not available in dealership inventory
- Ensure parts are billed accurately to repair orders, customers, and internal departments
- Collect and process payments for parts purchases
- Process parts returns and maintain accurate supporting documentation
- Maintain organized records, inventory areas, and workspaces
- Work closely with the Parts, Service, Accounting, and Management teams
- Follow dealership policies, manufacturer procedures, and safety requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous automotive parts, dealership, inventory, retail, or customer service experience preferred
- Mercedes-Benz or luxury automotive dealership experience is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience with Reynolds and Reynolds is preferred
- Comfortable using Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Google Docs, and other business software
- Ability to learn vehicle systems, parts catalogs, and manufacturer procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Professional, team-oriented, and able to work effectively with customers and employees at all levels
- Strong attention to detail
- A sense of urgency and consistent follow-through
