Job Description

Two-Year-Old Teacher

Position Summary
The Two-Year-Old Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages two years old. The teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development while maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to children in the classroom.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate daily activities and lesson plans.
  • Support children’s language, communication, social-emotional, cognitive, and motor development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Follow daily classroom schedules and established childcare center policies and procedures.
  • Assist children with toileting, diapering, handwashing, meals, snacks, and other personal-care needs as appropriate.
  • Encourage positive behavior and use appropriate classroom-management techniques.
  • Observe and document children’s developmental progress and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate classroom records, attendance, and required documentation.
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with parents and guardians regarding their child’s daily experiences and development.
  • Work collaboratively with classroom staff and management to provide quality care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, professional-development opportunities, and center events.
  • Follow all applicable childcare licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CPR certified
  • Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and coworkers.
  • Ability to remain patient, attentive, and positive in a busy classroom environment.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must meet all applicable state childcare licensing and background-check requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry young children when necessary.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, kneel, and move around the classroom throughout the workday.
  • Ability to actively supervise children and respond quickly to their needs.

Work Environment: Childcare classroom serving children approximately two years of age. The position requires active engagement with children throughout the day and the ability to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environmen
