This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contract Mobile App Developer based in India.

This is an opportunity for an experienced mobile developer to take ownership of an existing application and bring it through the final stages of development and launch. The app is a creative invitation design and creation platform, with approximately half of its development already completed. You will independently assess the existing codebase, understand its architecture, and deliver the remaining functionality. The role covers both iOS and Android development, as well as integrations, cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting, and release preparation. As the sole developer, you will have significant technical ownership and autonomy over the application. The position is ideal for a hands-on full-stack engineer who enjoys solving problems independently and taking products from an existing codebase through launch and beyond.

• Take ownership of an existing mobile application and conduct a thorough review of its current codebase, architecture, functionality, and technical dependencies.
• Work through the handoff from the existing developer and independently understand unfamiliar code, components, workflows, and integrations.
• Complete the remaining development required to bring the application from its current stage to a production-ready launch.
• Develop, maintain, test, and optimize the application for both iOS and Android using React Native.
• Work with existing APIs, cloud infrastructure, databases, third-party services, and external integrations to ensure reliable application functionality.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve bugs, technical issues, performance problems, and integration challenges throughout development and after launch.
• Independently manage the technical development lifecycle, prioritizing tasks and making appropriate implementation decisions with minimal supervision.
• Prepare the application for successful production deployment and launch across both mobile platforms.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, bug fixes, performance improvements, and technical support following launch.
• Contribute to future feature development and enhancements as the application evolves.
• Maintain a reliable and scalable technical foundation while ensuring a smooth and consistent user experience.

• Strong professional experience with React and React Native, including production mobile application development.
• Demonstrated experience developing and launching applications on both iOS and Android.
• Full-stack development experience with the ability to work across mobile application code, APIs, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to take over an existing codebase, understand unfamiliar technical structures, and independently identify what needs to be completed or improved.
• Experience integrating and working with APIs, third-party services, cloud platforms, and external development tools.
• Experience with application development and deployment processes from development through production launch.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Comfortable working as the sole developer responsible for an application without dedicated developers or designers.
• Strong ownership mindset, self-management, and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Ability to prioritize technical work, manage development tasks independently, and communicate progress and potential issues clearly.
• Experience providing post-launch application maintenance, updates, bug fixes, and ongoing feature development.
• Familiarity with relevant technologies in the existing environment, including Firebase, Google Cloud, Google AI Studio, Microsoft Azure, GitHub, Cloudflare, Replicate API, Facebook API, PayPal API, and Google Workspace, is advantageous.

• Monthly contract compensation range of approximately $4,000–$6,000 per month, depending on experience and scope.
