This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who enjoys solving complex problems while shaping both technology and engineering culture.

Accountabilities

  • Design and evolve cloud-based SaaS solutions using modern architectures, including microservices and serverless approaches.
  • Provide technical direction across frontend, backend, and data platform development, ensuring architectural consistency and long-term maintainability.
  • Establish and uphold quality standards for team-delivered software, including functional and non-functional requirements related to performance, scalability, availability, and security.
  • Identify gaps in existing technical patterns and drive architectural improvements, experimentation, and adoption of technologies that can create meaningful competitive advantages.
  • Communicate priorities, technical direction, and expectations clearly while ensuring engineering teams have the resources and support required to execute effectively.
  • Serve as a senior technical liaison for executive stakeholders, connecting engineering strategy with broader business and product objectives.
  • Identify technical risks early, develop mitigation strategies, and help keep complex initiatives on track and within scope.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to define requirements, assess feasibility, and translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, promoting technical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor emerging healthcare, analytics, AI, and software engineering trends and recommend technologies or approaches that can strengthen the product and technology strategy.
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver innovative solutions to customer problems while maintaining high standards for security, reliability, and performance.
  • Travel occasionally, with travel requirements of up to 10%, including potential overnight travel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent significant industry experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering and/or data engineering experience within a software product organization, with a strong focus on scalable, high-performance analytics applications and systems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on healthcare industry experience, particularly developing healthcare analytics products or solutions.
  • Extensive experience architecting, building, and delivering complex SaaS solutions in cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Strong experience with microservices and serverless architectures.
  • 5+ years of experience spanning frontend, backend, and data platform development.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, C#, and Python, with experience developing and maintaining high-volume, production-grade systems.

  • Proven experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, or comparable technologies.
  • Hands-on experience integrating data analytics, AI/ML, generative AI, LLMs, and agentic workflows into software products.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and an ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies thoughtfully.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and guiding teams toward high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, architectural, and decision-making skills, with a history of delivering practical and innovative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and collaboration skills, particularly when working across engineering, product, and executive teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and effectively manage complex priorities.
  • Candidates must be located in the EST or CST time zones within the United States.
