This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr SW Engineer, Credit Cycle based in Brazil.
This is an opportunity to join a high-impact engineering team building core services that support billing, debt management, and financial transactions across the credit lifecycle.
You will design and develop secure, scalable, and highly reliable services in a mission-critical fintech environment.
The role combines hands-on software engineering with cloud-native architecture, automation, observability, and production support.
You will work extensively with Java, AWS, microservices, Kubernetes, Terraform, and event-driven technologies.
Collaboration with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams will be central to translating business needs into effective technical solutions.
You will also contribute to architectural decisions, technical standards, and continuous improvements across the platform.

- Develop, maintain, and evolve scalable, reliable, and secure services primarily using Java and deployed on AWS, ensuring code is clean, testable, efficient, and well documented.
- Participate throughout the full software development lifecycle, from technical planning and system design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures, evaluating trade-offs involving scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Build and maintain comprehensive automated testing, including unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests, to ensure system quality and resilience.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices, while supporting modern deployment and GitOps practices.
- Monitor application health and distributed-system performance through logs, metrics, tracing, alerts, and observability tools, proactively identifying and resolving production issues.
- Design and document APIs using approaches such as Swagger/OpenAPI, flow diagrams, and technical documentation that support developers and external consumers.
- Work with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge to develop cloud-native and event-driven solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, providing constructive input on architecture, code quality, scalability, reliability, and cross-domain impacts.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to incident response, operational excellence, system stability, and the long-term evolution of the platform.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and engineering best practices, including AI-assisted development tools, and share relevant insights with the wider engineering community.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer working with production systems, with strong hands-on expertise in Java.
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Intermediate English proficiency, at B1 level or above, for communication in an international environment.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and operating microservices architectures in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- Solid knowledge of AWS services including SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge, with experience building event-driven applications.
- Advanced Git skills, including handling complex version-control and collaborative development scenarios.
- Strong expertise in automated testing across unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end levels.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and deployment technologies such as Terraform, ArgoCD, Jenkins, Codefresh, or comparable tools.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitOps, observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting practices.
- Experience with relational databases and data modeling, together with familiarity with non-relational database strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and contribute to technical decisions involving scalability, reliability, performance, and system evolution.
- Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Experience with mission-critical systems and/or the financial services, payments, or authorization domain is a plus.
- AWS certifications, familiarity with advanced observability practices, and experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, GPT, or Claude are advantageous.
