Job Description:

The Head Men's Soccer Coach is responsible for directing all aspects of the Men's Soccer program at New York
Maritime College, including coaching, recruiting, program administration, and student-athlete development. This is a
full-time, calendar year position reporting directly to the Director of Athletics. The program carries a roster of over 30
student-athletes competing at the NCAA Division III level.


POSITION DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
• Direct all aspects of the Men's Soccer program including practice planning, game preparation, individual and team
skill development, and in-season competition management for a roster of over 30 student-athletes

• Design and implement a comprehensive year-round training and instructional program that develops individual
skill, team cohesion, and competitive performance at the NCAA Division III level

• Lead all recruiting efforts to identify, evaluate, and sign prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA
Division III bylaws and institutional admissions standards

• Develop and manage the program budget, equipment inventory, game scheduling, and all travel logistics

• Serve as a liaison with academic support personnel to monitor and promote student-athlete academic progress,
eligibility, and overall well-being throughout the year

• Collaborate with athletic training and strength and conditioning staff to support the health, conditioning, and
rehabilitation of all program members

• Mentor and develop student-athletes in their personal, academic, and athletic growth throughout their collegiate
careers

• Maintain year-round communication with current and prospective student-athletes, parents, alumni, and program
supporters

• Represent the program and the institution positively at conference meetings, NCAA events, and community
functions

• Fulfill home event supervision duties, attend all mandatory staff meetings, and complete all required institutional
training including Van Driver Certification and NCAA Exam

• All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Men's Soccer coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level
  • Working knowledge of NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to recruit prospective student-athletes effectively
  • Ability to manage a large roster program (30+ student-athletes) and the full administrative scope of a collegiate soccer program
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean motor vehicle record
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required by the competition and recruiting schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Men's Soccer coaching experience at the intercollegiate level
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in sports administration, physical education, or related field
  • Coaching certification from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., United Soccer Coaches)
  • Prior experience managing a full-time coaching appointment with year-round recruiting responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a competitive program at the NCAA Division III level
  • Current Certification in First Aid, AED, and CPR


Additional Information:

Classification/Salary Range: This position is a This is a full-time, calendar year (12-month) position. The anticipated salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will commence immediately and conclude when position is filled.
