Job Description
Bank Teller/New Accounts Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Serves customers by completing account transactions.
- Provides account services to customers by receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and recording night and mail deposits.
- Sells cashier’s checks, gift cards, pre-paid cards and money orders.
- Answers questions in person or on telephone and refer customers to other bank services as necessary.
- Records transactions by logging cashier’s checks and other special services; preparing currency transaction reports.
- Cross sells bank products by answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customers’ needs, and directing customers to a branch representative.
- Completes special requests by opening and closing accounts, taking orders for checks, exchanging foreign currencies, completing safe-deposit box procedures, and providing special statements, copies, and referrals.
- Reconciles cash drawer by proving cash transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins.
- Reconciles other transactions.
- Maintains supply of cash and currency and turns in excess cash and mutilated currency to head teller.
- Complies with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions, auditing other tellers’ currency, and assisting in certification of proof.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects bank operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Open new accounts and assist customers.
- Explain bank products and services, including savings, checking accounts and COD.’s
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
· Must be able to type, use computer systems, read, and write.
· May need to be able to lift up-to 50 pounds at a time.
· Use hands, fingers and have dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, 10-key, telephone and other necessary equipment.
· Ability to reach with hands and arms, walk, stand, sit, kneel, and crouch.
· Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
· Must be able to lift and carry files, documents, teller drawer, coin, etc.
