POSITION SUMMARY
The Host is the first and last impression—setting the tone for hospitality from greeting to fond farewell. This role manages reservations and pacing, welcomes guests by name when possible, and supports the floor to keep service flowing.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Welcome & Flow
- Warmly greet guests, confirm reservations, and provideaccuratewait times; offer alternatives when needed.
- Seat thoughtfully based on server sections, pacing, and guest preferences.
- Maintain a clean, organized host stand; communicate delays with empathy and accuracy.
Reservations & Communication
- Manage OpenTable settings,notes, and turn times; capture preferences and special occasions.
- Coordinate with servers, expo, and management to balance covers and deliver smooth handoffs.
Support & Teamwork
- Assistwith menus, waters, bussing/resetting as needed tomaintainmomentum.
- Uphold DH standards for appearance, cleanliness, and professionalism.
JOB‑SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Friendly, professional communication; poise under pressure.
- Basic OpenTable or reservation system experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and host for extended periods; nights/weekends/holidays as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation
- $12.14-$16.00per Hour DOE plustips
