This position plays an important role in keeping production running efficiently by ensuring welders have the right materials, parts, and components when they need them. High school diploma or GED required; technical training is a plus
Previous experience in kitting, material handling, warehouse, or production support within a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a metal fabrication or welding environment is preferred
Ability to read work orders, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and production documentation
Experience using ERP or inventory management systems and RF scanners is preferred
Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first 30 days
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate material handling equipment
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles is a plus
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Pull, organize, and assemble parts and materials into production kits based on Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production schedules
Stage completed kits for the welding department to ensure production stays on schedule
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility
Maintain accurate inventory transactions within the ERP system
Verify part counts, kit accuracy, and documentation while resolving discrepancies as needed
Work closely with Production, Inventory, and Engineering teams to support manufacturing operations
Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support production goals by ensuring materials are available where and when they are needed
