Miami Jewish Montessori is a boutique Jewish preschool serving approximately 30–40 children in the heart of Coconut Grove. Our program combines Montessori principles with a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. We are committed to helping every child feel seen, understood, respected, and emotionally safe. Position Overview
We are seeking a warm, reflective, and dependable Toddler Lead Teacher for our youngest classroom.
Montessori experience is welcome but not required. We are open to experienced educators, emerging teachers, career changers, and highly trainable candidates who bring sound judgment, emotional maturity, and a genuine desire to grow.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
A successful Toddler Lead Teacher:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
This is a 10-month, school-year position.

A successful Toddler Lead Teacher:
- Gets down to a child’s eye level and responds with warmth and respect.
- Assumes positive intent and looks beneath behavior to understand what a child may need.
- Maintains a calm, regulated presence during spills, conflicts, transitions, and emotional moments.
- Creates consistent routines that help toddlers feel secure.
- Communicates professionally and thoughtfully with families.
- Reflects honestly on strengths, challenges, and areas for growth.
- Works collaboratively and steps in to support colleagues when needed.
- Helps build a classroom where children are known individually, not managed as a group.
- Lead the daily care, learning, and routines of a toddler classroom.
- Create a safe, nurturing, organized, and developmentally appropriate environment.
- Support children’s social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.
- Observe children closely and adapt guidance to individual needs.
- Respond to challenging behavior with empathy, consistency, and appropriate boundaries.
- Plan and facilitate hands-on learning experiences aligned with the school’s educational approach.
- Partner closely with co-teachers and school leadership.
- Communicate regularly with parents about children’s experiences and development.
- Participate in training, coaching, reflection, and professional development.
- Support schoolwide needs with flexibility, professionalism, and a team-first mindset.
- Follow all health, safety, supervision, and classroom-care procedures.
- Experience working with young children preferred.
- Early childhood education, child development, Montessori, or related training is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.
- Openness to feedback, coaching, and learning new approaches.
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in an active toddler environment.
- Jewish background is not required.
- $30,000–$38,000 for the 10-month school year, based on education, experience, and qualifications.
- Five personal days.
- School closures for Jewish and Federal holidays.
- Extended Passover break.
- Professional learning with psychologists, occupational therapists, and child-development specialists.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
This is a 10-month, school-year position.
