Summary

Performs high level scheduling for specialized outpatient and inpatient surgeries/procedures. Position is responsible for the collection of clinical information/reports in preparation for all surgeries/procedures and for obtaining pre-authorizations. Position is responsible for administrative support to physicians and physician assistants/certified registered nurse practitioners, including, but not limited to, answering phones, scheduling patients and checking in and checking out patient in the office.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. One year experience in surgical physician practice, which included patient scheduling and coordination.
3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
4. High attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
5. Fundamental understanding of personal computers, familiarity with the Microsoft operating system and keyboard skills.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Knowledge of colorectal terminology and procedures.
2. Associates degree and/or three years of experience in patient scheduling.
3. Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Microsoft operating system.
4. Prior experience of providing direct patient care in a colorectal office setting.
