Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Manager based in Canada.
As Senior Product Manager, you’ll take ownership of the direction, growth, and success of an innovative ecommerce product designed to improve customer retention and lifetime value.
You’ll operate with significant autonomy in a fast-moving, startup-style environment where speed, experimentation, and strong judgment are highly valued.
The role combines customer discovery, product strategy, commercial thinking, design, experimentation, and hands-on execution.
You’ll work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to uncover opportunities and turn insights into impactful product decisions.
You’ll also use modern AI tools to prototype, test, learn, and accelerate product development.
Success will require balancing customer needs, business opportunities, technical constraints, and execution priorities.
This is a 12–18 month remote contract opportunity, offering the chance to make a visible impact on an important growth product.
- Own the product strategy, roadmap, priorities, and execution, focusing the team on opportunities with the greatest customer and business impact.
- Build a deep understanding of customer problems, behaviours, and needs through direct conversations and insights from Sales, Onboarding, Support, Marketing, and other teams.
- Translate customer feedback, product data, market opportunities, and business context into a clear product vision and rationale for what should be built.
- Make informed product trade-offs by balancing customer value, commercial impact, development effort, and technical feasibility.
- Turn customer problems and ideas into tangible solutions through prototypes, designs, experiments, and iterative testing.
- Collaborate with founders, executives, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders to create alignment and maintain momentum.
- Identify blockers, establish urgency, and follow through to ensure product decisions translate into measurable outcomes.
- Use AI tools such as Claude, Lovable, Figma, and Gemini to explore concepts, prototype solutions, accelerate learning, and improve execution speed.
- Continuously evaluate product opportunities and adapt priorities based on customer learning, business performance, and changing market conditions.
- Demonstrated senior-level product management experience with strong product judgment and the ability to establish and communicate a clear point of view.
- Strong customer orientation and curiosity, with the ability to investigate the underlying problems behind customer requests.
- Solid commercial understanding of how product decisions can influence adoption, retention, revenue, and growth.
- A hands-on builder mentality, with the willingness to contribute directly to research, design, experimentation, and execution rather than operating solely at a strategic level.
- Excellent prioritization and decision-making skills, including the ability to make effective choices with incomplete information.
- Proven ability to influence and align technical teams, business leaders, founders, and executives without relying on formal authority.
- Strong product design instincts and hands-on Figma experience, with the ability to translate concepts into intuitive product experiences and iterate quickly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, highly collaborative startup environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Practical experience using AI tools in day-to-day product work and enthusiasm for applying AI to product discovery, prototyping, learning, and execution.
- Experience in SaaS, ecommerce, product-led growth, or another rapidly evolving technology environment is an asset.
- Competitive compensation based on experience and skills.
- Employer-paid health and dental benefits starting from day one.
- Competitive paid vacation allowance.
- Annual $1,000 health benefit to support personal wellbeing.
- Access to a virtual mental health and Employee Assistance Program platform.
- Employee options providing an opportunity to participate in future company growth.
- Fully remote work from anywhere in Canada.
- Flexible working hours designed to support autonomy and work-life balance.
- 12–18 month contract offering meaningful ownership of a high-impact product.
